About
Curtis. Airline pilot. Woodworker. Pickleball. Gardener. Reader. Sailor.
I bought Skydancer in August 2024. She's a 2010 Jeanneau 57, and she lives in Marina del Rey. I grew up racing on Phoenix lakes, then spent years on the Inside Passage between Anacortes and Ketchikan.
Why
The boat work was eating my evenings. Engine logs in the chart table. Mechanic numbers in three different phones. Maintenance notes on bulkhead corners. Every system I tried treated the boat like a spreadsheet.
So I built what I needed.
Three principles I check every decision against:
- Do the right thing. Your data is yours. No dark patterns. No surveillance. No upsell.
- Create moments that matter. The boat work isn't the point. What the boat lets you do is the point.
- Give back. A ten-year-old designed our cover. Crew, family, and mechanics ride free.
